As a blogger you should probably be aware of Pinterest (and if you aren’t, where have you been hiding for the past year!) but I’m betting that you’re not too sure how to use it. As with many social media platforms, people have jumped on to the Pinterest bandwagon, making it the fastest growing social network online, but many don’t have a clue how to use it. Pinterest is a fantastic resource for bloggers and a great way to increase your blog traffic
.
Inspiration
We all get stuck for ideas from time to time and sometimes it’s hard to come up with interesting and engaging posts on a regular basis. Having a scan of Pinterest can help to get your creative juices flowing. Check out what’s trending to give you an idea of what’s popular and what people want to read about.
Share your blog
Pinterest is one of the best ways in which you can share your blog and build a following. Pin your posts to your Pinterest account. If the image and content is engaging you’ll likely find that your post will be re-pinned by others which in turn will lead to greater interest in your post, directing traffic to your site. Be careful about pinning solely from your own blog however. Pinterest is a site for sharing so make sure you have a good collection of pins from other sites as well. What goes around comes around after all!
Build relationships with others
By following other bloggers on Pinterest as well as their blog you’ll show that you have an active interest in their posts. If you share their posts you’ll strengthen your relationship, meaning that these bloggers will also take an interest in your site and will share your posts as well. This mutual sharing and linking will help to grow your blog traffic and increase your presence in the blogosphere.
Pinterest is simple and fun to use and can help you to not only create great content but share that content as well. Happy pinning!
